Early morning arson attack spreads to two homes in Peterborough

An arson attack spread to two homes in Eastfield Road in Peterborough yesterday, Wednesday, March 23.

Crews from Dogsthorpe and Stanground were called to the fire at 1.17am.

A large quantity of material, including furniture, outside a semi-detached property was well alight when crews arrived. The fire had spread to affect both properties.

Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels and jets to extinguish the fire. Positive pressure ventilation fans were also used.

No one was in either of the properties.

Crews returned to their stations by 4.20am.

The cause of the fire was deliberate. Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
