The incident was reported at just before 4pm.

Wilkes had been suspected of shoplifting and was being detained by store staff and an off duty officer.

She had since been charged with theft from a shop and was recalled to prison.

Police did not send armed officers to any specific incident on Saturday afternoon, with a spokesman saying that it was possible the officers had just been the nearest to the scene.
