A woman was punched in the face and robbed on the driveway of her house in Eaton Ford.

The victim, who is in her 40s, had returned home at about 10.30pm on Tuesday (January 19) and parked outside of her house in Crosshall Road

On leaving the car, she was punched in the face and fell to the floor. The male attacker then continued to punch her in the face as she lay on the floor.

The man made off and when the victim entered her house she realised her handbag was missing.

The victim suffered minor facial injuries and grazing to her left elbow and was taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon.

Police officers were able to trace the handbag via an app on the victim’s mobile phone, which was in the bag, and it was found under a parked van in Crosshall Road.

The handbag was sitting on top of a blue coat, a grey hooded top and a red hat; which police believe may have belonged to the attacker. The victim’s cream woollen hat and suede gloves were also found next to the van.

Detective Constable Karin Peters said: “This was an unprovoked and cowardly attack, which has left its victim injured and badly shaken.

“I urge anyone with information to come forward.”
