Woman had purse snatched in Peterborough road

A woman had her purse snatched as she walked along a Peterborough road.

The woman was walking along New Road, Woodston on Monday (July 18) at about 10.50am when she was approached by a man who took the purse and ran across London Road.

Another man who witnessed the incident ran after the offender, retrieved the purse and returned it to the woman who then continued on her way.

The offender is described as white and of slim to medium build. He was in his mid 30s, approximately 5’8” and had light stubble.

Detective Constable Liam Sweeney said: “I would like to speak to the female victim and urge her, or anyone who knows her to come forward. Anyone who witnessed the incident is also asked to contact police.”
