Witness appeal after flat fire in Peterborough

A witness appeal has been launched after a flat fire in Fletton.

On Friday at 8.11pm crews from Dogsthorpe, Stanground and the Peterborough Volunteer Fire Brigade were called to the fire in London Road.

A Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “All persons were accounted for.

“The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate. Anyone with information should contact police by visiting www.cambs.police.uk to submit an online report or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”

Fire crews from Dogsthorpe and Stanground were also called on Saturday at 6.01pm to a house fire in Fletton Avenue, Fletton.

The fire was in the kitchen and involved a cooker.

The cause of the fire was accidental, the fire service spokesperson said.
