The death of a man whose body was found off Lincoln Road in Werrington is still ‘unexplained’ say police who are continuing investigations in the area today, Tuesday.
Cambridgeshire police were called at about 1.45pm yesterday (Monday, December 7) by a member of the public reporting a body in the river close to Mancetter Square.
The cause of death is currently unexplained and officers are awaiting results of a post-mortem.
Two workers were in the river and were chopping off branches on trees surrounding it.
Residents living nearby had also not heard much about yesterday’s incident, although five police cars were spotted at the scene.
Cambridgeshire Fire And Rescue Service did not attend yesterday.
The East of England Ambulance Service had not responded when asked if it had attended.
