UPDATE: Police hunt second offender in connection with Peterborough stabbing after boy (14) is bailed

Police are continuing to hunt for a stabber after releasing a 14-year-old boy on bail following a knife attack in Peterborough left a victim with serious injuries.

Cambridgeshire police arrested the teenager yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, Thursday 24) after being called at just after 4pm by the East of England Ambulance Service to Portland Avenue in New England, which is close to Fulbridge Road.

A police spokeswoman said: “The victim, a man in his 20s, suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries to his abdomen.

“A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in custody at Thorpe Wood Police Station.”

The teenager has now been bailed to return to Thorpe Wood Police Station on April 12 and police confirmed they are today hunting for someone else in connection with the incident.

The victim remains in Peterborough City Hospital having suffered multiple wounds to his chest and stomach.
