UPDATE: Police cordon extended after suspected '˜handmade explosives' found at Peterborough house

While arresting a 23-year-old man for assault, police found what are thought to be handmade explosives.

The bomb-squad attended the address in Stokesay Court, Longthorpe.

The police cordon has been extended to cordon off the road at its junction with Harlech Grange this morning, Wednesday June 22.

The man arrested remains in custody.

The hand-made devices were removed by the bomb squad last night.

The discovery is not being linked to terrorism with a Cambridgeshire police spokeswoman stating that it is being treated as an “isolated incident.”
