Travellers have been told they have to move from Hampton after their encampment caused a ‘highway issue’.

Peterborough City Council said it is monitoring the situation at Phorpres Way and have advised the travellers that they need to move by the end of the day as they are blocking the pavement.

The council said it will be monitoring the situation.

A police account on Twitter said it was working alongside the council over the issue.

The tweet said: “Working together to resolve highways issue caused by traveller encampment on Phorpres Way, Hampton.”
