Three arrested on suspicion of attempted murder as Peterborough man seriously injured

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was dragged along a Peterborough road by a car.

The incident took place just after midnight on Sunday morning near to Barclays Bank on Lincoln Road.

The victim, a 25-year-old Peterborough man, was speaking to the occupants of a dark coloured vehicle when it drove off dragging him along the road.

He remains in a serious condition at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said the man was unconscious but breathing when they arrived, and was initially taken to Peterborough City Hospital for treatment.

A police spokesman said three men had now been arrested in connection with the incident.

A 25-year-old man from Peterborough has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, while a 29-year-old man from Peterborough and a 27-year-old man from Peterborough have been arrested on suspicion of robbery and attempted murder.

They have all been bailed until May 10.
