A thief got away with jewellery from a Peterborough store this morning.
The Beaverbrooks store on the ground floor of the shopping centre was hit by the raid at about 11.15am.
The shop has the shutters down and has a notice outside saying it is shut due to ‘unforeseen circumstances.’
A spokesman for Cambridgeshire police said: “Police were called at 11.15am today (Thursday) to reports of a theft at a jewellers in Queensgate, Peterborough.
“The suspect is described as a man of Asian appearance in his early 20s, 5’6 tall and of slim build. He was wearing white tracksuit bottoms, baseball cap and a black hooded top.”
Police said two small items of jewellery were taken in the incident, and it was not believed any threats or violence were used.
