A young man was left injured after being stabbed more than once during an incident in Peterborough.
The 18-year-old victim, whose name has not been released, suffered a number of minor wounds in the attack.
The incident occurred in the Eastgate area of Peterborough at about 12.30pm on Saturday.
The victim was taken to Peterborough City Hospital where he is still recovering from the attack.
Detectives say that details surrounding the stabbing are still not clear but the attack is not being treated as an attempted murder.
They say the victim was stabbed more than once following what seems to have been a row.
It is not known how many other people were involved in the altercation.
A police spokesman said it was not known exactly where in Eastgate the incident had occurred.
Police were alerted to the man’s plight by an ambulance crew who had been called to the scene.
An East of England Ambulance spokeswoman said the service was called to an incident in Peterborough at 12.23pm on Saturday.
“An ambulance, Magpas Air ambulance and an ambulance officer attended to treat a man with minor injuries.
“He was taken to Peterborough City Hospital by ambulance for further care.”
She said it was not possible to give a street name as it was a private address.
