A man who raped a woman has been jailed for seven and a half years.

Jason Clark, 44, of Suffolk Close, Huntingdon, was also told to sign the Sex Offenders Register at Peterborough Crown Court on Thursday (December 17).

Clark met the 26-year-old victim during a night out at Cromwell’s in Huntingdon on September 11 last year.

The pair went back to the victim’s house along with her sister and continued drinking until the early hours of the morning until they all fell asleep.

When the victim woke, she found Clark on top of her and she wasn’t wearing any underwear.

The victim disclosed what had happened to her sister and a friend and alerted police.

Clark was charged with rape in June this year and was found guilty on December 15.

Officer in charge Detective Constable Tracy Hall said: “Clark’s conviction would not have been possible without the strength of the victim and witnesses who, with help from officers, were given the confidence to speak out about this horrendous experience.”
