Public warned not to approach armed robber with Peterborough links after prison escape

Police are appealing for help in tracing a prisoner who has absconded.

Officers where contacted this morning, Thursday 17 March, shortly after 11.45am reporting that 35-year-old John Drury was missing from Hollesley Bay in Suffolk. He was last seen at 10.45am.

Drury is described as a white man, approximately 5’10” tall, slight build, has brown coloured short hair, green coloured eyes and was wearing grey shorts and a blue jumper. He also has a tattoo around his upper right arm.

Drury is serving an indeterminate sentence for robbery with a firearm. He has connections to Peterborough and Lincolnshire.

Officers have launched an extensive search in the area, including use of the helicopter and have been conducting enquiries within the vicinity to locate him.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen him or anyone with information about where he is now to contact officers. You should not approach him or take any further action.
