Police are warning Cambridgeshire residents about an internet dating scam.
One recent victim, a Chatteris man in his 60s, was contacted by a woman claiming to be from Ghana and they started exchanging emails.
After the woman began gaining his trust she asked for money to help pay for an Ebola injection for her and her family and to buy mobile phones.
The victim sent several thousand pounds but has not heard from the woman since. Officers believe there might have been similar crimes that have not been reported.
Anyone who has been a victim of the scam should call 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
