Police have issued a warning ahead of a planned car cruise in Peterborough this weekend.
A number of people were seriously injured at a car cruise event in Stapledon Road, Orton Southgate in August after a driver lost control of his vehicle and careered into spectators.
Police in Peterborough are now warning that they will take action if people are put at risk at a similar event this weekend.
A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Police said: “Cambs Police are aware of a possible planned car cruise in Peterborough this weekend.
“We are keen to balance people’s freedom of assembly with public safety. If you are planning to attend a car cruise, please be responsible in your actions and think about the safety of others.
“Cambs Police will take action against offenders where evidence exists for Road Traffic or other offences that put people at risk.”
