A Lincolnshire police spokesman said: "There have been a number of e-scooters seen in the area of Market Deeping over the last few days. It is against the law to use a privately owned e-scooter in any public place, they can only be used on private land, with the landowners permission. There are currently trails taking place in certain areas of the country where e-scooters can be hired, but this does not cover use of privately owned scooters."

If found to be using an e-scooter in a public place you could:

• Face a fine

• Get penalty points on your licence

• Have the e-scooter impounded by a Police officer or PCSO
