Police urge Peterborough residents to check sheds in hunt for missing Michael

Residents are being urged to check garages and other buildings to help find a missing man in Peterborough.

Police are growing increasingly concerned for a man who has gone missing from Bretton.

It is understood Michael Smith, 45, left the area in the early hours of this morning (Friday) and has not been seen since.

Mr Smith is described as white, approximately 6’2” tall, heavy build, with brown thinning hair, green eyes and a fair complexion. He was last seen carrying a rucksack.

He has a black and white Siberian husky dog with him, which is described as less than a year old. The dog has a pure black back with white underneath and some brown patches on his legs and tail.

DI Claire Hewson said: “Police are growing increasingly concerned for Mr Smith’s welfare and would urge anyone who has seen him, or may know where he is, to contact us immediately.

“We would like to ask the public to look out for tents in open grounds, and check garages and outbuildings.”
