Police have traced a man seen on CCTV in Peterborough Asda following a racially aggravated attack on a woman and her two young children.
Police issued the CCTV earlier this week. After being featured by the Peterborough Telegraph the man has been traced and spoken to by officers.
No arrests have been made and police are still investigating the incident.
The victim, a woman in her 30s, was with her two children inside the store in Viersen Platz at about midday on Sunday, April 3.
They were near the lifts, going into the homeware section, when one of the children heard a nearby man swear at their mum.
They carried on around the corner, passed the photo desk and into the baking isle, when the same man approached them and made threats of violence and racial comments.
Detective Constable Pete Wise said: “This was a particularly distressing ordeal for the victim and her two children who were minding their own business, doing some shopping, when the incident happened.
“I am particularly keen to speak with the man in the CCTV images and would urge anyone who knows him to contact police. I would also urge anyone who witnessed the incident to contact us.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident 202 of April 3, or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
