A police officer based in Peterborough has been found guilty of common assault.

PC Symian Traer-Goffe (46) who is based at Hampton Police Station, was found guilty of two counts of common assault which took place in October last year.

A police spokeswoman said the offences were of a domestic nature.

Following the trial at Luton Magistrates’ Court on March 4, he was ordered to pay a £750 fine, £650 costs and a £50 victim surcharge. He was also given an eight month restraining order.

PC Traer-Goffe remains suspended from duty pending consideration of police misconduct matters.
