Police make arrests for supplying drugs, drink driving and criminal damage in ongoing operation in Peterborough

Police in Peterborough have made arrests related to a number of offences including supplying drugs, drink driving and criminal damage as part of an ongoing operation.

Operation Siphon was set up by the Eastern Neighbourhood Policing Team, which covers areas of the city including Millfield and Eastfield, to tackle drug dealing as well as a range of other criminal activity after concern was raised by residents.

Police have now confirmed that the operation has had more success this week. This relates to:

- Six stop searches carried out for drug possession

- Two arrests for drink driving and criminal damage

- One vehicle seized for having no insurance

- One arrest for possession with the intent to supply Class B drugs and production of cannabis

The arrest for intent to supply and production of cannabis came after the team carried out a warrant in Century Square. The man arrested has been released from custody while the investigation continues.

A spokesperson from Policing Peterborough on Facebook said: “We’re still working hard to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour being reported as concerns to us by our communities - where will Op Siphon take us next?!
