Police helicopter called in to aid late night police pursuit through Peterborough

Two men remain at large this morning, Thursday, after a police pursuit through the streets of Peterborough last night.

A number of readers got in touch with the Peterborough Telegraph after hearing the police helicopter overhead for a prolonged period late last night, Wednesday March 1.

Police attempted a routine stop of a car in St Paul’s Road at around 11.15pm after they suspected it was being driven without tax, MOT or insurance.

The car took off at speed and police continued to pursue it. Two people then left the vehicle and made off on foot. The car was recovered in the Fulbridge Road area.

The police helicopter was called in to help search for the occupants of the car.

Officers are continuing investigations this morning,
