Police have cordoned off a pizza restaurant at the Werrington Centre in Peterborough this evening, Friday July 31, amid reports that a young man has been stabbed.

Police and ambulance are at the scene and a cordon has been set up outside Domino’s pizza.

Earlier today there was a another stabbing in Peterborough City Centre.

Andy Simons, landlord of The Ploughman in Werrington Centre said: “I was going to get some chips, there was a big commotion and police and ambulance pulled up. There were a lot of youths hanging about and I heard a lad had been stabbed.

“There were a lot of youths I didn’t recognise as being local.

“The police have done such a good job cleaning anti-social behaviour up, this is shocking. It is not what you would expect to happen here. I’m devastated.

“We’ve worked so hard to get the centre back on track. We’ve worked with police Ken Stimpson School and Tesco to get new lighting and CCTV. We’ve worked so hard and then something like this happens.”
