Peterborough woman charged with attempting to bite police officer

A woman has been charged after police officers in Peterborough were assaulted whilst attending a call.

Rachel Askew, 29, was arrested at her home address in Norburn, Bretton, on Tuesday night (1 September).

Officers had attended the address following reports of a domestic incident, however Askew was arrested after two police officers were assaulted.

Askew has since been charged with two counts of assaulting an emergency worker by beating, namely slapping one and attempting to bite them, and spitting at another.

She has been bailed to appear Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on 19 October.
