Peterborough police seize £65,000 in money laundering probe

Police have seized £65,000 in cash from a van in Peterborough as part of an investigation into money laundering.

Officers from the northern Community Action Team (CAT) stopped the van on the Fletton Parkway on Friday afternoon (3 July).

Upon searching it officers discovered a bag of cash and counterfeit tobacco worth almost £8,000.

The driver, a 25-year-old man from Nuneaton in Warwickshire, was arrested on suspicion of money laundering. He has since been released under investigation.
