Police found hundreds of packs of suspected counterfeit cigarettes hidden in packets of exercise balls at a Peterborough shop.

Officers carried out a warrant at Star Food convenience store in Lincoln Road in connection with the supply of drugs – and while they didn’t find any drugs, they did find almost 1,000 packs of illegal tobacco and what is believed to be counterfeit cigarettes hidden in boxes of yoga balls.

The owner of the shop will be interviewed about the discovery.
