Peterborough men arrested over rape allegation released under investigation by police

Five people arrested on suspicion of raping two teenage girls in Peterborough have been released under investigation.

The five males were arrested by police on suspicion of rape after two teenage girls made allegations in January.

The alleged rapes are said to have happened at some point between January 11 and January 12 at properties in Lincoln Road and St Paul’s Road.

As a result of the allegations, police applied for a court order to shut down the Babylon Restaurant and Shisha Lounge in Lincoln Road, with the court granting a three month closure in Januray.

Three 18-year-old men, a 27-year-old man and the 16-year-old boy were due to answer police bail today. A police spokeswoman said all five had now been released under investigation.
