Peterborough man who subjected teenage girl to ‘sickening’ sexual abuse jailed
A man who befriended a teenage girl and sexually abused her has been jailed.
Daniel Stewart, 33, met the girl in Peterborough in May 2018 and later that year started sexually abusing her.
The abuse continued regularly until the summer of 2019.
In February this year the victim confided in a trusted adult. Police were notified and Stewart was arrested at his home in Queens Road, Peterborough.
He went on to admit four counts of sexual activity with a child.
On Friday (7 May) at Peterborough Crown Court, Stewart was jailed for three years and given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for ten years.
DC Anoeska Price said: “Stewart took advantage of a vulnerable young girl and subjected her to sickening abuse.
“I’m pleased this offending came to light and he has now been jailed. I hope this helps the victim as she attempts to rebuild her life.”
