Peterborough man jailed after breaching restraining order for fifth time

Lee Campbell (40) of Cowper Road was given six months in prison for the fifth breach of the order which was given in December 2011 for common assault.

Campbell also received another three months jail time having activated a suspended sentence, totalling nine months behind bars overall.

Unyime Davies, prosecuting, told Peterborough Crown Court on Thursday (February 18) that police had attended an address in Oxclose where Campbell was prohibited from being.

She said: “At the address Campbell was seen in the bedroom unclothed,” before adding that he was next to the person who lived in the home.

Diane Mundill, defending, said Campbell had stated that he was invited to the property and “did not see the harm in it.”

She added: “Of course that’s the wrong approach to have taken.”

The court was told that Campbell has a number of past convictions, including threats of violence, dishonesty, criminal damage and being drunk and disorderly.

Judge Gareth Hawkesworth said: “You are a lawless man who has repeatedly over the last few decades broken the law and thought there’s nothing wrong in doing so.”
