Peterborough man due in court charged with shoplifting almost £400 worth of meat

A Peterborough man is due in court today (Monday October 19) charged with stealing meat worth almost £400 from a Peterborough M&S.

Shane Currie, 50, was arrested on Friday morning (October 16) following instances of shoplifting at the M&S food store in Queensgate shopping centre.

He was charged with two counts of theft of meat to the value of £122.94 and £155.92 and bailed to appear at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court today.

Currie, of Star Mews in Eastgate, was further arrested on Saturday (October 17), again in connection with shoplifting at M&S and has been charged with an additional offence of theft of meat to the value of £109.06.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court today.
