Yobs tipped over and damaged the dug outs at Peterborough Sports home ground in Lincoln Road over the weekend.

The club is now working on getting the damage fixed.

Chairman Grant Biddle said it was too early to say how much damage had been caused, but he hoped it would not be too bad. He said: “This mindless vandalism is hardly what we need in these difficult times.

“With isolation the damage can be put right at a later date and there are more important things to worry about, but for a club who rely on volunteers in the main to keep improving our ground this is not the news we want.

“We are grateful for the numerous messages of support from the general public and members of the wider non league family.”

The club is now working with a welder and security firm following the break in.

Anyone with information about the break in is asked to contact Cambridgeshire police on 101.
