Peterborough drink and drug drivers banned from the roads

A number of drink and drug drivers caught in and around Peterborough have appeared in court where they have been fined and banned from the roads.

Oluwole Arebuwa (37) of Wesleyan Road, Peterborough, was stopped on Stone Lane on August 3 last year in a Lexus.

He tested postive for cannabis when he was stopped, and was also driving with no insurance and otherwise in accordance with a licence.

Arebuwa was fined £415, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £41 and costs of £85, and was disqualified from driving for 40 months.

Rui Soares (47) of Westbrooke Park Road, Peterborough, was arrested on December 29 last year in London Road.

He gave a reading of 46 microgrammes (ugs) of alcohol in 100 mililitres of breath - the legal limit is 35 ugs. He was also driving the Mercedes Benz with no insurance.

Soares was fined £461, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £46, costs of £85 and banned from the roads for a year. The disqualification can be reduced by three months if a drink drive rehabilitation course is completed by August 29 this year.

Julius Dulke (50) of Rowan Close. Wisbech was more than three times the limit when he was stopped while driving a Suzuki Vitara on the A1101 on December 27.

He gave a reading of 116ugs in 100ml of breath.

He was fined £346, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £85, and disqualified from driving for 28 months. The ban can be reduced by 28 weeks if he completes the course by 7/9/21.

Jessica Odedra was driving a Nissan Juke when she was stopped on January 11 in Thorpe Road.

She gave a reading of 57ugs in 100ml of breath, and was fined £249, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32 and costs of £85. She was disqualified from driving for 14 months - although the ban can be reduced by 14 weeks if the course is completed by 21/01/20.

Kieron Hennessy (31) of HMP Lincoln was caught driving under the influence of cocaine and benzoylecgonine on Star Mews, Peterborough on August 2 last year. He was also driving with no insurance.

He was fined £120, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32 and costs of £85. He was also banned from driving for 15 months.

Sam Newton (22) of Chancery Lane, Eye was also caught driving under the influence of cocaine and benzoylecgonine - as well as methylenedioxymethamphetamine. He was stopped in Silverwood Road, Peterborough on August 3.

He was ordered to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work, pay a victim surcharge of £90 and costs of £85. He was banned from driving for two years.
