A Peterborough police officer who was due to stand trial for common assault has had the charge against him dropped.

PC Craig Farrington, 33, who is based at Thorpe Wood Police Station, was due to face trial at King’s Lynn Magistrates’ Court on Monday (August 10).

However, the court ruled there was no case to answer.
