Peterborough boy injured after being knocked over by motorcyclist

A seven-year-old boy was knocked over by a motorcyclist while playing with his friend in Orton Goldhay, Peterborough.

The boy suffered cuts and bruises after being hit on a cycle path near the underpass in Howland.

He was playing with his friend Lucas Thomson (9) and was crossing from one field to another when he was hit.

Lucas’ dad Michael Thomson (38), from Howland, said his son had been shaken up by the incident.

Mr Thomson is appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

A spokeswoman for Cambridgeshire police said the constabulary were called at 5.54pm yesterday (Tuesday, May 12).

She added: “A seven-year-old boy was knocked over by a black motorcycle on the cycle path near the underpass.

“The rider is described as a white man, wearing grey tracksuit bottoms, a white top and no helmet.”

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said it was called at 5.55pm and sent a paramedic and ambulance.

He added: “The boy had grazing and was not taken to hospital.”
