A bridge at Eye Green Nature Reserve, which was only repaired last week following a previous attack, has again been vandalised.

Over the weekend the wood on the bridge was cut again. It has been repaired once again, but this time a new method is being used to ensure the bridge does now fall foul of vandals again.

The wood has now been reinforced with steel bars to ensure vandals cannot cut all the way through the supports.

A bridge in Northborough, off North Fen Road, has also been vandalised.

Similar to other attacks, a saw was used to cut slats in the bridge over the weekend.

Peterborough City Council said it is currently closed to the public and repairs will begin in the coming days.

Both offences have been reported to police, but a Peterborough City Council spokesman said repairs will cost several hundred pounds.
