A man who went missing from Peterborough City Hospital was found safe and well thanks to the long paw of the law.
When a 23-year-old man was reported missing in the Westwood area of the city at 9.20pm on Saturday, September 19, it did not take Police Dog Paddy and his handler PC Baz Gary long to track him down.
PD Paddy, a German Shepherd, was able to track the man to an alleyway off Flore Close so he could be safely returned to hospital
Sergeant Vicky Stoughton from the Beds Cambs and Herts Dog Unit said: “Paddy’s nose is truly an asset to the three forces. He and Baz should be very proud of their work as they managed to locate a potentially vulnerable person in a short period of time.”
PD Paddy was back in action again today, Wednesday, helping to track a man wanted on suspicion of theft in Peterborough, who was quickly arrested.
Sgt Stoughton added: “If you’re interested in finding out more about our team, you can now follow us on Twitter and Facebook by visiting www.twitter.com/dogpoliceBCH and www.facebook.com/BCHPoliceDogs. Here you’ll find the latest news about, and photos of, the team and our partners on four paws.”
