Man still in hospital after violence erupted in Peterborough street

One person remains in hospital after violence broke out in a Peterborough street yesterday.

Welland Road, Figtree Walk and Cedar Grove in Dogsthorpe were all closed off, and Peterborough City Hospital was placed in lockdown for a number of hours following the incident at about 10.30am yesterday.

Three people were taken to hospital after suffering injuries - a 14-year-old boy, a 40-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman. The 40-year-old remains in hospital, although his injuries are not described as life threatening.

Police said at least two people had suffered injuries ‘consistent with pellets.’

Three people - two 14-year-old boys and a 33-year-old man - have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent and are currently still in custody at Thorpe Wood Police Station.
