Man seriously injured in Peterborough city centre assault

A man has been seriously injured in an assault in Peterborough city centre.

The attack happened on Broadway near the Job Centre at 1.07pm today (Tuesday).

A police spokesman said: “We were called by a member of Peterborough City Council staff at 1.07pm today (April 19) to reports of violence involving two men in Broadway, Peterborough.

“The victim of the assault has received serious injuries as a result of the incident, although not believed to be life threatening.”

The spokesman said the suspect had left the scene via Church Walk.
