Man's death 'not suspicious' say police after body found in Stamford river

The death of a man found in a Stamford river is not thought to be suspicious, according to Lincolnshire Police.

Police were called just before 2pm yesterday (Friday, August 31) to The Meadows where the body of a man was located in the River Welland.

An investigation was launched and has subsequently concluded that the death of the man, who was aged in his 20s, is not thought to be suspicious.

His next of kin have been informed and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
