Man charged with killing two Yaxley men in hit and run to appear in court today

A man charged with causing the deaths of two men in Yaxley during a hit and run in January, will appear in crown court today, Thursday March 30.

Richard Frost (38) of Dorset Avenue, Chelmsford, Essex, is charged with causing the deaths of Thomas Fletcher, 19, of Meadow Walk, Yaxley, and Thomas Northam, 22, of Lilac Walk, Yaxley.

Frost is expected to enter a plea to two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, two counts of dangerous driving, one count of causing actual bodily harm and one count of common assault.

He was expected to enter pleas on the charges at Peterborough Crown Court on Friday February 3, but the hearing was adjourned until today at Cambridge Crown Court to allow for a psychiatric report to be prepared.

Mr Fletcher and Mr Northam died on Tuesday January 3 when they were struck by a BMW, allegedly driven by Frost, on the B1091 near Yaxley.

Both Mr Northam and Mr Fletcher worked at drainage company Clarksteel Group in Yaxley, Cambs.
