Man bailed after being arrested by armed police for making threats with knife in Yaxley

A man arrested by armed police in Yaxley on Sunday afternoon after reports he had a knife in the street, has been bailed.

Officers from the Armed Policing Unit attended the scene in Chapel Street at 1.38pm on Sunday, March 19 and a 37-year-old man from Peterborough was arrested on suspicion of attempting to commit grievous bodily harm.

He was taken into custody at Thorpe Wood Police Station in Peterborough where he was given bail to return on Tuesday April 4.
