A man has been arrested following reports of a man with a firearm in a Peterborough street.

Parts of Orton Malborne had been cordoned off by armed police today after officers received reports of a man with a weapon.
A spokesman for Cambridgeshire police said: “Officers were called at 1.24pm to reports of a member of the public in possession of a firearm in public in Saltmarsh, Orton Malborne, Peterborough.
“Armed officers responded and searched the area.
“A man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and taken to Thorpe Wood Police Station.”
