Man arrested on suspicion of drink driving after Peterborough city centre crash

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after crashing into a barrier in Peterborough city centre this morning, Thursday March 17.

The 24-year-old drove his black Volvo V70 into the barrier on the Queensgate roundabout at around 5.30am.

Police were called and the road was briefly shut between Queensgate and Rivergate roundabouts while the car was recovered and emergency repairs to the barrier made.

The man remains in custody.
