Man arrested in Peterborough after police officer knocked over by car

A man has been arrested after a police officer was knocked to the ground.

The 47-year-old was arrested in Lincoln Road, just off Westgate, this afternoon (Friday 10 July). Police attempted to stop the vehicle he was in, however he tried to drive off, knocking the police officer to the ground. The officer suffered minor injuries.

He was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and attempting to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent.
