Man arrested in electoral fraud probe in Peterborough

4.40pm: POLICE investigating alleged electoral fraud in Peterborough have arrested a man this afternoon (Wednesday).

A 31-year-old is being questioned at Thorpe Wood Police Station after being arrested at an address in the city on suspicion of possession with intent to commit fraud.

No more details have been released about where the fraud is alleged to have taken place.

It comes just over 12 hours before the polls open for the 2012 Peterborough City Council elections, in which 19 ward seats will be up for grabs.
