Man arrested for possessing knife and making threats in Peterborough street

A man has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a weapon in a public place in Peterborough this afternoon, Thursday September 22.

Residents reported seeing armed police in Sprignall in Bretton at lunchtime today.

Police have confirmed they attended an address at 1.15pm and arrested a man on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon that is not a firearm.

Neighbours told the Peterborough Telegraph that they saw a man making threats while brandishing a knife.
