Man arrested after midnight crash on Lincoln Road

Friday 1.30pm: A man has been arrested after a crash outside a supermarket on Lincoln Road, Peterborough at midnight on Thursday night (15 January).

The crash, involving a Ford Focus and a Ford Ka, happened outside Morrisons.

One of the cars had hit a lamppost, and the Ford Focus was on fire.

Lincoln Road was closed at the Brotherhood Retail Park to allow recovery of the cars to take place.

The driver of the Focus left the scene but made contact with police a short while later.

A 39-year-old man from Peterborough was arrested and charged with driving without a licence, driving without third party insurance and driving while above the legal alcohol limit.

He has been bailed to return to Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 19 January.
