Man released on bail after altercation in Peterborough involving 10 men as man stabbed

A 38-year-old has been released on bail following an altercation where a man was stabbed in Peterborough, during broad daylight.

A police cordon was put in place in the afternoon of Thursday, March 23, into the evening.

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Constabulary said: “We were called at about 4pm with reports of violence in Cromwell Road, Peterborough.

“Officers attended the scene and it was established a group of up to ten men had been involved in an altercation.

“A man in his 30s was taken to hospital with stab wounds. His condition is not life threatening.”

A 38-year-old man from Peterborough was arrested on suspicion of being involved in violent disorder on Friday, March 24. His arrest is connection with the altercation, not the stabbing.

He has since been released on bail to return to Thorpe Wood Police Station on 22, June 2023.

An investigation is still ongoing.
