Intense car fire after arson attack in Peterborough

An arson attack on a car in Peterborough was so intense that the fire spread to nearby trees.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service crews were called to North Street on Wednesday, June 10 at 10.53pm.

Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the fire.

Crews returned to their stations by midnight.

The cause of the fire was deliberate. Anyone with information should contact the police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
