Immigration raid sees man staying in Peterborough illegally, arrested

Immigration officers arrested a man during an early morning raid in Peterborough this morning, Thursday May 5.

Acting on intelligence, Immigration Enforcement officers visited a residential address in Oundle Road, at about 7.30am.

They arrested a 30-year-old Nigerian man who had overstayed his Tier 4 student visa. He has been transferred to immigration detention pending removal from the UK.

A Home Office spokesman said: “We will continue to take action against those who are in the country illegally.

“We would urge members of the public with detailed and specific information about immigration offending to contact us.”
